We bought this rack after experiencing serious damages to both our bikes from using another popular style/name brand carrier. This carrier is by far, easy to use and superior to anything we ever had. We added a front custom hitch to our truck and now the bikes are low enough we can see through our windshield when traveling. They are 100% secure, with no bouncing or damage to our aluminum bike frames.

Very impressed with the rack set up and ease of use. The description does not do this bike rack justice. Very functional and easy to mount the bikes on even if they are odd frame shapes or sizes. They ride very securely and the rack has very little wiggle with no noise. Center arm moves out of the way to open the tailgate (if no bike is attached). Arms that hold the bike ratchet down and lock until a clip is pressed to release them. I love it, money well spent.

First off you may be confused by the picture of the rack on Amazon. It is a model 64650 with a curved receiver, the one pictured is an older model with a streight receiver. also the 2" adapter is like the new model 64670 with metal plates. You may have read complaints about a plastic adapter. The pin for the reciever is threaded (to firm it up)so a regular hitch pin won't work unless you drill it out. as of 7/24/2009 Amazon shipping was free and no sales tax to Cali :)

This is a great MB rack. It is study, compact, not very heavy and very reliable. I have already used it dozens of times. The only drawback is that you should buy the lock for it. I should have gotten it but I didn't think I needed it. I h lock hitch already. But, the hitch lock is threaded, so you have to buy the hitch lock (not included). But that was my fault. The seller was very fast and I recived my rack in perect condition. Thanks.
